Similar to our ham bread a little bit because it is vegetarian but she loved it and did not know about the existence of our delicious Christmas bread. Well, the course ended yesterday and this beautiful lady from France invited us to her house for dinner and I wanted to make her a stuffed bread but that she could eat, so I went to the supermarket early and at noon I already had this beauty
Ingredients for the bread roll with cheese and vegetables
For the mass:
• 1 kg of wheat flour (plus 200 gr just in case)
• 200 g of butter or margarine
• 100 gr of sugar
• 1 large tablespoon of salt
• 2 large tablespoons of yeast
• 200 ml of milk
• 100 ml of water
• 2 eggs (one for the dough and one for painting)
Preparation of the dough for the stuffed bread
The first thing we will do is warm the 100 ml of water and add just one tablespoon of the sugar, the two tablespoons of yeast and mix. Let it rest for 3 to 5 minutes in a dark place without drafts until it ferments.
We pour the content into a large bowl along with the milk, the remaining sugar, the egg, the butter, the flour and finally the salt. Let us always ensure that the salt does not come into direct contact with the yeast because it destroys it and the dough does not grow.
Knead in the same bowl and when the ingredients are together. This is the point where we have more flour on hand, why? because it is always necessary to add a little more until you get a soft dough that comes off your hands. This is like a mantra that I always repeat haha But it is so! You have to use common sense a bit and knead and add flour little by little until you get the perfect dough.
After kneading, we make it into a ball and put it back in the bowl in a closed and warm place. (It can be in the oven without turning on, with a pot next to boiling water to add moisture and heat). We let it rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size … whichever comes first.
This dough makes 3 small loaves or two larger ones. Now we go with the filling
Vegetable bread roll filling
• 400 gr of munster cheese (or the one of your preference)
• 200 gr of mushrooms I used the crimini which are darker
• 3 garlic cloves
• 3 large handfuls of spinach
• 1 bunch of parsley
• 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
• salt and pepper to taste
We will mince the garlic, the mushrooms and fry them in the butter for approximately 3 minutes. Then we add the spinach, salt and pepper to taste and finally, when it is almost ready, the parsley
Preparation of the bread roll with vegetable cheese
We will divide the dough into 2 or 3 according to the amount of loaves we want. We spread it on the table that we flour a little so that it does not stick to us and we leave a thickness of 1 cm. Not less, because but, as the cheese melts with the heat and it is like lava that breaks the dough and it will come out everywhere it happened to me with the first bread haha so you know why I tell you .. biggest disaster! so thick dough. The other option so that it does not come out, is to place the cheese only on one side of the dough and we begin to roll it on that side, which when it is wrapped with the other half that does not have cheese, it will remain in the center and there is less chances of it slipping out there.
We covered it with the cheese here, I did not follow the recommendation above, it was still an innocent soul who did not know what was going to happen to me, then with the sauce that must be already cold and we roll up sealing well at the ends. You can use the cheese of your choice. Once a subscriber did not remember what nationality he told me on my YouTube channel that he made ham bread and that he added Philadelphia cheese too … and I think that this bread should be very tasty.
We take a little dough and decorate it to taste. We beat the yolk of the other egg with a little oil and paint the bread. Or you can also melt butter with small parsley.
We will bake the breads for approximately 1 hour. The first 25 minutes at 200ºC pending as long as it does not burn us, the ovens have a life of their own, well at least mine does, and then we lower the temperature to 180ºC and finish baking until the hour is complete. If the loaves are small they will be ready in less time.
The meeting was super! and always a joy to meet new friends, among Panamanian Venezuelans French and my teacher as she calls herself “la gringa” we had a great time. We ate ceviche, ham bread, the vegetable bread roll, assorted cheeses, canapes and Doriane made a moist chocolate cake with a delicious strawberry glaze. And of course, the wine could not be missing
And of course, if you liked this bread roll, you cannot stop making the Ham Bread. With this recipe you will be super good Guaranteed! Click here or on the photo to see how it’s done!
