Lentil soup


Lentil soup is one of the cheapest dishes with the highest iron content, its preparation is very simple and its flavor is very rich.


Ingredients for lentil soup

  • 1/2 kg of lentils
  • 2 slices of bacon
  • 3 medium potatoes
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 liter of meat broth
  • Oil (5 tablespoons)
  • Salt to taste

Preparation of the lentil soup

Cut the onion, garlic and bacon in the oil, and fry everything for 3 minutes. Then we add the potatoes, the carrots and why not! You can also add zucchini or sweet potato (sweet potato)

Add the meat or chicken broth and 1 liter of water. If you do not have the broth it does not matter much, the soup is still very rich without it. Cook covered for 40 minutes over low heat, rectify with salt.

Something I do (when it is colder) is to liquefy the 3rd part of the soup and I add it back to the pot, be very careful when doing it, it must be cold because if we blend the soup while it is still hot we run the risk of burning as the lid of the blender and the soup will be blown off by the fumes. Blending one part gives it that creamier texture that I love! A little bit of spice if you like and you are ready an excellent thermogenic food!
