Ingredients for the Meatloaf with puff pastry

  • 1kg of meat to loaf (in Spain it can be needle)
  • 500 gr of spinach
  • 1/2 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Puff pastry
  • Oil
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper


Preparation of the Meatloaf with puff pastry:

First For the meat: Boil the whole piece of meat with enough water (to cover it) with a cube and a little salt, until the water is almost consumed and it is soft and ready, fry it and reserve the broth.

Sauté 1/4 of the onion and 1 garlic and then add the meat already shredded, add salt to taste, pepper, and add half of the broth that we reserve, let it cook until the water is consumed. They can also make it with other ingredients.

In a pan, fry the rest of the onion and garlic with a drizzle of oil and add the spinach, a little salt and cook for 5 minutes.

Spread the puff pastry in a container for the oven (only half because we are going to cover it with the other), add the meat and on it the spinach.

Cover with the other half of the dough, paint it with the yolk of an egg and make a few holes with the fork.

And baked for 25 to 30 minutes. Clever!
