Ingredients for Pasta with tuna and basil (4 people):

  • 2 cans of tuna
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Olive oil
  • A sprig (10 leaves approx) of fresh basil
  • 5 large ripe tomatoes or 1 small can of crushed tomatoes
  • Long pasta
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation of the Pasta with tuna and basil:

First we cook the pasta in enough water and a little salt, in 7 minutes it should be ready. In a large, deep frying pan, sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic, after two minutes add the tuna, stir and cook for approximately 3 minutes.

Then add the basil leaves and finally the can of crushed tomatoes, (or the ripe tomatoes diced) season with salt and pepper to taste, cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. If we see that it is very dry, add 1/4 of a glass of water and continue cooking until it is thick.

Strain the pasta, add it to the sauce pan, if it doesn’t fit in the pan it doesn’t matter you do it the other way around and add the sauce to the pasta pot. Stir and serve with Parmesan cheese, garnish with a couple of basil leaves.

It is a super fast and delicious bailout pasta.
